We have a Saturday gig at the prestigious Double Door--this Saturday, 4/5--but could use some help with
hosting/running the show. I emcee the night and give away prizes between acts via a silly game show, also
engaging in other comedic antics between bands.
Gig would be mostly helping out and getting in on the ground floor of the show, but some stage time would be
involved. We've done these Flabby Hoffman Caravans for almost four years now, 6-8 a month or so, and the show
has a rep. Portions are also taped and broadcast on the Flabby Hoffman cable-access TV show.
You'd help round up audience volunteers for the game show, help with other assorted duties (checking in with
bands, etc.), and can bring-up and introduce game-show players; depending on what we can do ahead of time,
perhaps more onstage comic chemistry can ensue, as well. Light compensation is possible--bands make money on
a per-head basis and are instructed to tip the host(s) if they can. I've made anywhere form zilch to $70 (in most
cases, $20-40, but we'd split it in this case).
